NCCU Humanities Center Ethics Lecture Series Comes to A Successful End

The recent series of lectures on ethics hosted by NCCU Humanities Center was successful. According to the center, a total of 250 persons participated in the four lectures and a round-table discussion, with each session being fully attended. The audiences not only included NCCU students and faculty; the lectures also attracted students and professors from other schools.

Mainland China Graduate Students Experience NCCU Media Education

Ten graduate students from five different universities in Mainland China came to Taiwan to participate in a two-month course, “Mainland China Graduate Students of Public Communication Practical Training Program”. Organized by College of Communication, the program required students to attend several courses as well as do field work. Dean of Communication College, Dr. Zhong, Wei-Wen hoped that to organize this two-month course will create a better mutual understanding between China and Taiwan.

NCCU has initiated a partnership with Ehime University since Oct. 9th by signing agreement of academic cooperation, to which NCCU President Wu, Se-Hwa looks forward that both universities would advance on human consideration and international vision.

International Richman Game for Cultural Workshop

How to travel around the world within one night? If you have been to the “International Richman” game hosted by NCCU Student Ambassador on Thursday, 16th of October, you definitely would get a clue.
The activity was designed as a real-person Monopoly game. Local and international students participating were divided into several groups and had to go through six stops featuring different cultures, including Taiwan, America, Korea, Thailand, etc. Participants were busy learning cooking at the Thailand stop, and at the next stop they got to know how Koreans celebrated the traditional New Year.

NCCU Student Represents Taiwan at International Conference

An NCCU student represented Taiwan at an APEC youth conference held in Peru last month.
Cheng Yu Hsuan, a senior student in the Department of Radio and TV, was part of a four-member delegation representing Taiwan at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Youth Camp from October 1st to 6th, 2008. Forty delegates from sixteen APEC economies participated in the conference, which was held under the theme “Caring for the sustainable development of the Asia-Pacific region.”
