NCCU College of Commerce (CNCCU) has every right to be proud, as it has been ranked 47th on the Financial Times 2008 list of top 50 Masters in Management for its MS in International Business (IB).

Wim Wenders Wows Fans At NCCU
The packed auditorium evidenced the enthusiasm with which German film director Wim Wenders was welcomed to NCCU. Those who could not find seats sat on the floor or simply stood for the duration of the Q&A session with the acclaimed director of Paris, Texas and Wings of Desire. Wenders spoke to the mostly Taiwanese audience through translation by Taiwanese Director Arvin Chen. Wenders is the executive producer of Chen's first feature film, First Page Taipei, and one of the reasons for his visit was to check out locations for the film.

NCCU Student Lin as Volunteer in Afghanistan
This summer, a graduate student of NCCU East Asian Studies, Lin Bo-Xun went to Afghanistan as a volunteer worker to teach English and peace course in the rural area. There was no water and electricity supply, even a chalk was extremely precious. Outside the classroom, Lin experienced the culture, environment and language differences which have struck him more than he had expected. "I have learned as much as those children" Lin said.

President of University of Mannheim Visits NCCU to Strengthen Tie between the Two Universities
Dr. Hans-Wolfgang Arndt, President of University of Mannheim (UM), visited NCCU President, Dr. Se-Hwa Wu, and the College of Commerce on Oct. 27th. A meeting with exchange students from UM was also held to help Dr. Arndt better understand the exchange program between the two universities.

"Imagine you're an American citizen this morning, and you have to vote for your president", the American Institute of Taiwan invited all participants to vote after the mock president debate presented by NCCU Diplomacy Department and AIT on the 30th, October. In this event, student participants from NCCU and NTHU (National Tsing Hua University) portrayed their own versions as presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain.

Signing Sister School with Nanjing University
On Nov. 14th, Chengchi University established the sister-school relationship with Nanjing University and signed agreements of academic cooperation. Chen Jun, the President of Nanjing University, and Zou Ya-Jun, the Dean of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, visited Chengchi University and the President Wu Se-Hwa at 9 AM. "Chengda was founded in Nanjing, and thus we have great affection for this sister-school relationship with Nanjing University," said Pres. Wu.

The Winners of Pulitzer Prizes Share Experiences with Students
On Nov. 8th, the Department of Journalism, Central News Agency, and the Communication Ethic Center of NCCU together held "Pulitzer Prize Winners Workshop" and invited Steve Fainaru, the winner of Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting 2008, and Xiang-Cheng Liu, the winner of Pulitzer Prize for Photography 1992, to share their experiences and to reappraise the value of journalism with the audience.
